I couldn't update my blog for a while

Being away this time, I couldn't update my blog for a while. As I have to go back to faraway area without internet connection. Yeah! Life is like this. By the way, I could put some more articles in my new style blog this time in town. So the visitors can see different interesting articles, photos, videos, links during my absence. But I will be back again within one month. See you.

Myanmar has first Birdflu Outbreak in a year

According to a Reuters News report, Myanmar has a new outbreak of bird flu in Yangon. U Than Hla of the Ministry of Livestock Breeding & Fisheries told Reuters that fowl on four farms on the northern outskirts of Yangon were tested positive for the virus. The outbreak on the largest of the farms prompted the culling of all 1,500 chickens and ducks on it, he said.

Reuters News report stated:
"The owner of the farm informed us immediately and we carried out necessary tests. The results of the laboratory tests showed it was H5N1. Arrangements are under way to have the specimen tested at the reference laboratories abroad," Than Hla said.
"It is in a residential area and we are taking all possible measures to control the situation and to monitor the spread," he said, adding that so far there had been no trace of the virus spreading to humans.

I don't know whether it is true or not but people are avoiding chicken in Yangon. Everybody already know about it and tells everybody to stop eating chicken.

Fads in the town - Internet Cyber Culture in Myanmar

There are now many new internet cafes opened recently in Yangon as well as in Mandalay. When I first used internet three years ago, it used to cost 1500 to 2000 kyats an hour, and all I got was a very slow internet connection, sometimes as low as 0.5 kbps! And I had to took a bus about half an hour to get to the nearest internet cafe.

Now, I just walked to the internet cafe near my house, and I get a decent connection speed at a price as low as 300 kyats. Most of the internet cafes in Yangon charges 400 kyats an hour. I can even download and upload video files from the internet cafes.

In Mandalay too, the price is more or less the same with many youngstars using the internet for many long hours.

However, the trend is only in Yangon and Mandalay. In most other cities, the price charged by the internet cafes are still high, as high as 1500 kyats in Kalay and 2000 kyats in Hakha. And the connection speed is not as fast as in Yangon and Mandalay.

Another thing is that, although many young people use internet, they use it mainly for chatting and voice mail. Most of them do not look at other educational or news website, and most do not know how to make a decent search. For them, internet is just chatting and voice mailing.

Anyway, because of the low price and ready availability of internet cafes, more and more people have now access to internet and I believe that is a good thing all Myanmar citizens.

Myanmar Wedding

A Burmese (Myanmar) website dedicated to those who are going to get married has been launched. The site contains information on wedding venues, planners, suggestions. There is also a news section for the wedding of celebrities. Well wishers can also wish for the wedding of their friends and family members.

Chin National Day

Chin National Day 2007 was held at U Wumthu Maung Stadium in Hakha, Chin State, on 20th of February, 2007. The origin of Chin National Day or Chin State Day dated back to 1948. On 20 February 1948, a people's assembly was held in Falam, and decided unanimously to reject feudalism and in support of the Union. Since then, February 20 was marked as Chin Day, and ceremonies were held every year. This year's ceremony was 59th.

Starting from 19 February, show rooms and shops were open in U Wumthu Maung Stadium. Chin traditional wrestling competition was also held. At night, Chin fashion show and Chin traditional dances were held in the stadium.
On 20 February, winners were given awards, and groups from Hakha and Falam performed traditional dances. After that, "Khaung Kauk Pwe" was held. In ancient time, the saw bwa or local lord chose a girl as her minor wife. The wife to be was accompanied to the saw bwa with a ceremonary. That ceremony was named "Khaung Kauk Pwe". Nowadays, the descendents of former saw bwas do the ceremonary just as an honour, to show their former glory.

First, the honored maiden was carried on a seat to the ceremony. The lady was allowed to get off near by, a carpet was laid (the lady was not allowed to touch the ground) and the lady stand on the carpet. At the chosen time, guns were fired to mark the start of the ceremony, and the lady was walked to the seat in a grand ceremony. Once seated, the seat was carried by the people who danced with the music. People formed a circle around the lady and danced with the music too. After a while, the ceremony was complete.

Almost all the town, both old and young, came to the National Day ceremony. They wear colorful dresses made by beautiful Chin fabrics. Chin National flags were also proudly flied at every house.

At night, a pop band from Kalay performed at the stadium.

ဦးစြာ ပထမ အေကာက္ခံ အမ်ိဳးသမီးပ်ိဳကို ေဝါနဲ႔ထမ္းၿပီး အခမ္းအနားနဲ႔ ကြင္းဆီ သယ္ေဆာင္လာ ၾကပါတယ္။ ေသနတ္မ်ားလဲ ပစ္ေဖါက္ ၾကပါတယ္။ ဒီ့ေနာက္ မိန္းမပ်ိဳကို ေဝါနဲ႔ မလွမ္းမကမ္းမွာ ေနရာခ်ေပး ပါတယ္။ မိန္းမပ်ိဳဟာ အခမ္းအနား အတြင္း ေျမမထိ ရပါဘူး။ ဒါ့ေၾကာင့္ မိန္းမပ်ိဳ ေလွ်ာက္မယ့္ လမ္းတစ္ေလွ်ာက္
ေကာ္ေဇာခင္း ထားပါတယ္။ မဂၤလာ အခ်ိန္ က်ေရာက္တဲ့ အခါ ေသနတ္မ်ား ပစ္ေဖါက္ၿပီး ေဝါဆီကို အခမ္းအနားနဲ႔ ေခၚေဆာင္ လာၾကပါတယ္။ ဒီ့ေနာက္ ေဝါကို ထမ္းၿပီး ဝိုင္ပတ္ ကခုန္ၾကပါတယ္။ မိန္းမပ်ိဳ ကလဲ တီးလံုး စည္းခ်က္ နဲ႔အညီ ကရပါတယ္။ ပိုက္ဆံမ်ားလဲ ႀကဲခ်ပါတယ္။ အခ်ိန္ အေတာ္ၾကာ ကခုန္ၿပီး အခမ္းအနား ၿပီးဆံုးပါတယ္။

ဒီခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသားေန႔ အခမ္းအနားကို လာၾကတဲ့ လူႀကီး လူငယ္ အားလံုးလိုလို ခ်င္းရိုးရာ အဆင္နဲ႔ ယက္လုပ္ထားတဲ့ ဝတ္စံုမ်ားကို ဝတ္ဆင္ လာၾကပါတယ္။ ခ်င္းရိုးရာ ဝတ္စံုေတြက အေရာင္ အေသြး စံုလင္ၿပီး အလြန္ လွပပါတယ္။ လွပတဲ့ ခ်င္းလွပ်ိဳျဖဴ ေတြနဲ႔ ခ်င္းဝတ္စံု ေတြက အလြန္ပဲ လိုက္ဖက္ လွပါတယ္။

ညဖက္မွာေတာ့ ကေလးက တီးဝိုင္းနဲ႔ ေဖ်ာ္ေျဖပါတယ္။ ဒီခ်င္း အမ်ိဳးသားေန႔ ပြဲကို ဟားခါး တစ္ၿမိဳ႕လံုး လူႀကီးလူငယ္မက်န္ ပါဝင္ဆင္ႏြဲ ၾကပါတယ္။ ခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသား အလံေတြကိုလဲ ဂုဏ္ယူ ဝင့္ၾကြားစြာ လႊင့္ထူ ထားၾကပါတယ္။ အခြင့္ ႀကံဳမယ္ ဆိုရင္ေတာ့ ဟားခါး ခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသားေန႔ ပြဲဟာ သြားေရာက္ ေလ့လာ သင့္တဲ့ ပြဲျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

ခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသားေန႔ (၁)

၂၀၀၇ ခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသားေန႔ အခမ္း အနားကို ဟားခါးၿမိဳ႕ ဦးဝမၼသူးေမာင္း အားကစားကြင္းမွာ စည္ကား သိုက္ၿမိဳက္စြာ က်င္းပ ခဲ့ပါတယ္။

၁၉၄၈ ေဖေဖၚဝါရီ ၂၀ ရက္ေန႔ ဖလမ္းၿမိဳ႕ ခ်င္းလူထု အစည္း အေဝးက ပေဒသရာဇ္ စနစ္ကို ဆန္႔က်င္ေၾကာင္းနဲ႔ ျပည္ေထာင္စုကို ေထာက္ခံေၾကာင္း ဆံုးျဖတ္ခဲ့ရာက အစျပဳၿပီး ခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသား ေန႔ကို နွစ္စဥ္ က်င္းပလာ ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ အခု ၂၀၀၇ မွာ (၅၉) နွစ္ ျပည့္ပါၿပီ။

ေဖေဖၚဝါရီ (၁၉) က စၿပီး ဦးဝမၼသူးေမာင္း အားကစား ကြင္းအတြင္း ဌာနဆိုင္ရာ ျပခန္းေတြ၊ ေစ်းဆိုင္ေတြ ဖြင့္လွစ္ ေရာင္းခ် ပါတယ္။ ခ်င္းရိုးရာ နပမ္းပြဲလဲ က်င္းပပါတယ္။ ညဖက္မွာ ရိုးရာ အကနဲ႔ ခ်င္းရိုးရာ ဝတ္စား
ဆင္ယင္မႈ ျပပြဲလဲ ျပဳလုပ္ပါတယ္။

၂၀ ရက္ေန႔ မနက္မွာေတာ့ရိုးရာ အကေတြနဲ႔ ေဖ်ာ္ေျဖၿပီး ဆုရရွိ သူမ်ားကို ဆုခ်ီးျမင့္ပါတယ္။ ဒီ့ေနာက္ ေခါင္ေကာက္ပြဲကို ဆက္လက္ ျပဳလုပ္ပါတယ္။ ေရွးေခတ္ကေတာ့ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္သူ ေစာ္ဘြားက ေတာ္ေကာက္တဲ့ အမ်ိဳး သမီးပ်ိဳကို အခမ္း အနားနဲ႔ သိမ္းပိုက္တဲ့ ပြဲျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ အခုေတာ့ ယခင္ ေစာ္ဘြား အႏြယ္ဝင္ တစ္ဦးက အခမ္းအနား သေဘာ က်င္းပတာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္

Falam

Falam is the capital of Falam District, Northern Chin State. There are two districts in Chin State, Falam in the north and Mindat in the south. Falam, Tiddim, Tunzan and Htantalan constitute Falam District.
Before 1965, Falam was the capital of Chin State. However, in 1965 the then Chin State Administration (Chin Uzi) decided to move the capital from Falam to Hakha which is in the center of the state and has potential to expand. Ironically in fact, the Chin State Administration was not moved from Falam, but from Kalay which was in Sagaing State, to Hakha. Although Falam was no longer the capital, it nevertheless retains part of its former glory. There are some two and three storied brick buildings in Falam, and a large and grand Baptist church in the center of the town.
Falam was built on the slope of a mountain range, in multiple steps. The town is quite clean and tidy. Girls from Falam are famous to be the most beautiful in the whole Chin State.
Almost all the people from Falam are Christians, with majority being Baptists. The living standard is quite high too.
Near Falam, you can visit and pay homage to the monastery where famous Buddhist Monk U Ottamathara once lived.

ဖလမ္းဟာ ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္ ေျမာက္ပိုင္း ဖလမ္းခရိုင္ရဲ့ ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္မွာ ေျမာက္ပိုင္း ဖလမ္းခရိုင္နဲ႔ ေတာင္ပိုင္း မင္းတပ္ခရိုင္ ဆိုၿပီး ခရိုင္နွစ္ခု ရွိပါတယ္။ ဖလမ္း ခရိုင္မွာ ဖလမ္း၊ တီးတိန္၊
တြန္းဇံ နဲ႔ ထန္တလန္ ၿမိဳ႕မ်ား ပါဝင္ပါတယ္။

၁၉၆၅ မတိုင္မီ အထိ ဖလမ္းဟာ ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္ရဲ့ ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ ျဖစ္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ၁၉၆၅ မွာေတာ့ ဟားခါးကို ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ေျပာင္းေရႊ႕ခဲ့ ၾကပါတယ္။ အရင္ကေတာ့ ဖလမ္္းဟာ အလြန္ စည္ကားခဲ့ပါတယ္။ အခုေတာ့ ဟားခါးက ပိုၿပီး စည္ကား သြားပါၿပီ။

ဖလမ္းမွာ ၂ ထပ္၊ ၃ ထပ္ တိုက္ေတြ အေတာ္မ်ားမ်ား ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ ထုထည္ ႀကီးႀကီးနဲ႔ အခိုင္အခန္႔ ေဆာက္လုပ္ ထားတာပါ။ အရင္ ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ ျဖစ္ခဲ့စဥ္က ေဆာက္လုပ္ ခဲ့တာပါ။ အခုေတာ့ ေတာ္ေတာ္ေလး ေဟာင္းႏြမ္း ေနပါၿပီ။ ခန္႔ညားမႈ ကေတာ့ က်န္ပါေသးတယ္။

ဖလမ္းၿမိဳ႕ဟာ ေတာင္ေဆာင္းမွာ အထပ္ထပ္၊ အဆင့္ဆင့္ တည္ေဆာက္ ထားတာပါ။ အေတာ္ေလး လွပါတယ္။ ဖလမ္း သူေတြဟာ ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္ တစ္ခုလံုးမွာ အလွဆံုးလို႔ ေက်ာ္ၾကားပါတယ္။ သက္မြန္ျမင့္ဟာ ဖလမ္းသူပါ။

ၿမိဳ႕လယ္မွာ ႀကီးမား ခန္႔ျငားတဲ့ ခရစ္ယာန္ ဘုရားရွိခိုး ေက်ာင္းႀကီး ရွိပါတယ္။ ဖလမ္းက အထြက္မွာေတာ့ ေတာင္တန္း သာသနာျပဳ ဆရာေတာ္ ဦးဥတၱမသာရ သီတင္းသံုး ခဲ့ရာ ေက်ာင္းသကၤန္းကို သြားေရာက္ ဖူးေျမာ္ နုိင္ပါတယ္။ ၿမိဳ႕လူဦးေရ အမ်ားစု ကေတာ့ ခရစ္ယာန္ေတြ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

Kalay Falam Hakha Road

Buses leave Kalay to Hakha everyday from Tarhan Bus Terminal. There are two bus lines, Chin Taung Tan and Shwe Chindit. One bus each leaves from each line everyday except Sunday. The buses leave the terminal at 5.00 AM in the morning.

I took Chin Taung Tan bus on early morning. The bus left the station at 5.15 AM but because it picked up passengers from the town, it was already 6:00 when the bus left Kalay. As soon as the bus left Kalay, the road suddenly went up and started to climb up the mountain. About 15 minutes after leaving Kalay, we stopped at on place on the road on the slope of a mountain, and prayed Lord for protection of the passengers. They prayed in Chin Language. It is customary, whenever somebody leaves for a trip, those left at home pray for the safety of the one. This is a very beautiful custom of Chin people.

The road is quite wide and good, with good hard ground. At 8:00 AM we reached Thai Ngin village, 32 miles away from Kalay, where the road to Tiddim started. At 8:40 we reached Var Lone village, 42 miles away from Kalay. We had our lunch at Cherry Restaurant. It was still too early for me to have lunch so I didn't have anything there.

50 miles away from Kalay is where road to Reed Village started. Reed is a village on the Indian border, where the famous heart shaped lake was.

At Lone Taw village, 53 miles away from Kalay, I saw many stair case firms, alot of them and very beautiful. Economy here seemed to be good for a mountainous village.

At Lone Ban village, about 59 miles from Kalay, I saw many more beautiful and fertile firms. There is also a station hospital and a highschool. Lone Ban is quite a large village.

After Lone Ban, the road started to went down again, and at 70 miles, we reached Bar Bridge, which crossed Manipur River.

After crossing Manipur River, the road winded up again at reached Falam at 12:15 PM. Falam is about 80 miles from Kalay.

Falam is quite a large town built on the slope of a mountain. Being the former capital of Chin State, it still maintain its past glory, with many two and three storied brick buildings, and a large Baptist church. Girls in Falam are famous for their beauty, claimed to be the most beautiful in all Chin State.

Road near Falam was quite worn out. From Falam to Hakha, about half of the road on the side of Falam was quite good, but the other half on Hakha side was severely damaged.

We reached Hakha at 4:30 PM.

Kalay Falam Hakha Road (2)

ကေလး - ဖလမ္း - ဟားခါးလမ္း (၂)

ဖလမ္းၿမိဳ႕ဟာ သန္႔ရွင္းၿပီး ေသသပ္ လွပတဲ့ ေတာင္ေပၚ ၿမိဳ႕ေလးတစ္ၿမိဳ႕ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ လူေနမႈ စနစ္လဲ ျမင့္ပါတယ္။ ဖလမ္း ၿမိဳ႕လယ္ လမ္းတစ္ေလွ်ာက္ ၂ ထပ္၊ ၃ ထပ္ အေဆာက္ အဦေတြ ေဆာက္လုပ္ထားၿပီး ႀကီးမား ခန္႔ညားတဲ့ ခရစ္ယာန္ ဘုရားေက်ာင္းႀကီး ရွိပါတယ္။ ၿမိဳ႕ကို ေတာင္ေစာင္းမွာ အဆင့္ဆင့္၊ အထပ္ထပ္ တည္ထားတဲ့ အတြက္ အလြန္ လွပါတယ္။ ဖလမ္း သူေတြဟာ ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္မွာ အလွဆံုးလို႕ ေက်ာ္ၾကား ပါတယ္။

ဖလမ္းမွာ ခရီးသည္ေတြ အမ်ား အျပား ကားေပၚ တက္လာ ၾကတဲ့အတြက္ ကားတစ္စီးလံုး ျပည့္က်ပ္ သြားပါတယ္။ ကားအမိုး ေပၚမွာလဲ လူအျပည့္ ျဖစ္သြားပါၿပီ။ ဖလမ္းက အထြက္ (၁၂:၄၅) ရွိပါၿပီ။ ဖလမ္း မေရာက္မီ လမ္းအေတာ္ ဆိုးပါတယ္။

ဖလမ္း အနီးမွာ အလြန္ လွပတဲ့ ေလွခါးထစ္ ေတာင္ယာ စို္က္ခင္းေတြ အေျမာက္ အမ်ား ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ ရြာေတြရဲ့ လူေနမႈ အဆင့္ အတန္းလဲ ျမင့္မားပံု ရပါတယ္။

ဖလမ္း - ဟားခါး လမ္းပိုင္းမွာ ဖလမ္းဖက္ ျခမ္းပဲ လမ္းေကာင္းၿပီး၊ ဟားခါးဖက္ ျခမ္းက လမ္းအေတာ္ ဆိုးပါတယ္။ အခ်ိဳ႕ အပိုင္းေတြက ျပဳျပင္ဆဲပါ။

ကေလးကေန ဖလမ္းကို ျဖတ္ၿပီး ဟားခါးကို မွန္လံုကားေတြ ေန႔စဥ္ (တနဂၤေႏြ မွအပ) ေျပးဆြဲပါတယ္။ တစ္ပတ္ (၆) ရက္ပါ။ ခ်င္းေတာင္တန္း လိုင္းနဲ႔ ေရႊျခေသၤ့ လိုင္းဆိုၿပီး နွစ္လိုင္း ရွိပါတယ္။ ေန႔စဥ္ တစ္စီးစီ ထြက္ပါတယ္။ ဟားခါးကလဲ တစ္စီးစီ ထြက္ပါတယ္။

ကေလးက မနက္ (၅) နာရီ ကားေတြ စထြက္ပါတယ္။ ကေလးၿမိဳ႕တြင္း လူတင္ ေနတာေၾကာင့္ ကေလးက ထြက္တဲ့ အခ်ိန္မွာ မနက္ (၆) နာရီ ရွိပါၿပီ။ ကေလးၿမိဳ႕က စထြက္ထြက္ခ်င္း ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္ထဲ ေရာက္ပါတယ္။ ၁၀ မိနစ္ခန္႔ သြားၿပီးေတာ့ ေတာင္ခါးပန္း တစ္ခုနားက အထိမ္း အမွတ္ ေက်ာက္တိုင္မွာ ကားရပ္ၿပီး ခရစ္ယာန္ ဘာသာ ထံုးစံအတိုင္း ဆုေတာင္း ၾကပါတယ္။ ခ်င္းလိုပါ။ ခ်င္းျပည္နယ္မွာ မိသားစု ဝင္ေတြ၊ အႀကီးအကဲေတြ
ခရီးထြက္ တဲ့အခါ လမ္းခရီးမွာ ေဘးကင္းေစဖို႔ မိသားစု ဝင္ေတြ၊ လက္ေအာက္ ငယ္သားေတြက ဒီလိုပဲ ဆုေတာင္းေပး ၾကပါတယ္။ အင္မတန္ ခ်စ္စရာ ေကာင္းတဲ့ ဓေလ့ တစ္ခုပါ။

လမ္းက ကတၱရာ ခင္းလမ္း ျဖစ္ၿပီး ေကာင္းပါတယ္။ ေျမသားမာၿပီး က်င္း၊ ခ်ိဳင့္ နဲပါတယ္။ မနက္ (၈)နာရီမွာ ၃၂ မိုင္က သိုင္းငင္းရြာကို ေရာက္ပါတယ္။ ဒီေနရာမွာ တီးတိန္ လမ္းခြဲ ရွိပါတယ္။ ကေလးက တီးတိန္ သြားမယ့္ လူေတြက ညာဖက္ လမ္းခြဲ အတို္င္း သြားၾကရပါတယ္။

မနက္ (၈:၄၀) နာရီမွာ ၄၂ မို္င္က ဗားလံုရြာကို ေရာက္ပါတယ္။ ဒီရြာမွာ မနက္စာ စားၾကပါတယ္။ ခ်ယ္ရီ စားေသာက္ဆိုင္ မွာပါ။ မနက္ေစာေသးလို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကေတာ့ မစားျဖစ္ပါ။ ဗားလံုက ဆက္ထြက္ေတာ့ မနက္ (၉) နာရီ ေက်ာ္ေနပါၿပီ။ အထြက္မွာ လမ္းအေတာ္ ဆိုးပါတယ္။ လမ္းေတာ့ ျပင္ေန ၾကပါတယ္။

မိုင္ ၅၀ မွာ ရိဒ္ လမ္းခြဲ ရွိပါတယ္။ လမ္းကေတာ့ ေျမလမ္းပါ။ ဝန္တင္လား ေတြနဲ႔ လားဝန္တင္ ကုန္သည္ အခ်ိဳ႕လဲ ေတြ႕ခဲ့ ရပါတယ္။

၅၉ မုို္င္မွာ လံုဗန္း ေက်းရြာ ရွိပါတယ္။ အေတာ္ ႀကီးမားတဲ့ ေက်းရြာႀကီး ျဖစ္ၿပီး အထက္တန္း ေက်ာင္းနဲ႕ တိုက္တယ္ ေဆးရံုတို႔ ရွိပါတယ္။ ေလွခါးထစ္ ေတာင္ယာ မ်ားလဲ အမ်ား အျပား ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ ေက်းရြာရဲ့ အေျခ အေန အရ အေတာ္ စီးပြားေရး ေကာင္းမယ္လို႔ ယူဆ ရပါတယ္။

လံုဗန္း ေက်းရြာက လြန္ၿပီး လမ္းက ျပန္နိမ့္ ဆင္းသြားပါတယ္။ ေမြလိမ္ ေမြေကာက္ ဆင္းသြားၿပီး မိုင္ ၇၀ မွာ မဏိပူရ ျမစ္ကို ျဖတ္ကူးတဲ့ ဘားတံတား ေရာက္ပါတယ္။ မနက္ (၁၁:၄၅) ရွိပါၿပီ။ ေနာက္ထပ္ ၁၀ မိုင္ေလာက္ ဆက္သြားၿပီး ဖလမ္းကို (၁၂:၁၅) ခန္႔မွာ ေရာက္ပါတယ္။

ကေလး - တမူး ကားလမ္း

ကေလး - တမူး ကားေတြ ကေလး ၿမိဳ႕တြင္း ကားေလးဝင္း ကေန ေန႔စဥ္ ထြက္ပါတယ္။ Van (Town Ace) နဲ႔ မွန္လံု ကားေတြ ေျပးဆြဲပါတယ္။ ကားႀကီးေတြလဲ ေျပးဆြဲေပမယ့္ ကုန္အဓိက တင္တဲ့ အတြက္ လူစီးလို႔ အဆင္ မေျပပါဘူး။ Van ကား ၂၅၀၀ က်ပ္၊ မွန္လံု ၂၀၀၀ က်ပ္ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ကေလးက ေန႔စဥ္ နံနက္ ၇ နာရီ နဲ႔ ေန႔လယ္ ၂ နာရီ ထြက္ၿပီး၊ တမူးကေန နံနက္ ၉ နာရီနဲ႔ ေန႔လယ္ ၂ နာရီ ထြက္ပါတယ္။

ကေလးက ကားမထြက္မီ မွတ္ပံုတင္ ေတြကို ကားေမာင္းသူထံ အပ္နွံ ရပါတယ္။ ကေလး အထြက္ စစ္ေဆးျခင္း မရွိပါ။ ကားလမ္းမွာ အထူးပင္ ေကာင္းမြန္ပါတယ္။ အိႏၵိယ အကူအညီနဲ႔ ေဖါက္လုပ္ ထားတာလို႔ သိရပါတယ္။ အခ်ိဳ႕ ေနရာေတြမွာ က်င္း၊ ခ်ိဳင္႔ အနည္းငယ္ ရွိသည္မွ အပ ေတာ္ေတာ္ ေကာင္းပါတယ္။

ကေလးက မိုင္ (၆၀) ခန္႔မွာ ခန္းပတ္ ၿမီဳ႕နယ္ခြဲကို ေရာက္ရွိပါတယ္။ ခန္းပတ္မွာ ကားေတြ ခဏ ရပ္နားၿပီး convoy ဖြဲ႕၍ ရဲ၊ တပ္ အေစာင့္ အေရွာက္နဲ႔ သြားရပါတယ္။ ခန္ပတ္မွ တမူး အထိ မိုင္ (၃၀) ခန္႔မွာ အိႏၵိယ နယ္စပ္မ်ဥ္း တေလွ်ာက္ ေဖာက္လုပ္ ထားတာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ တဖက္နိုင္ငံမွာ မဏိပူရ ခြဲထြက္ေရး သူပုန္ေတြ လႈပ္ရွား ေနတဲ့ အတြက္ အေစာင့္ လိုက္ရတာပါ။ ျမန္မာနို္င္ငံ ဖက္ျခမ္းမွာေတာ့ ေအးခ်မ္းပါတယ္။

ကေလး - တမူး လမ္းေပၚက ရြာေတြ ႀကီးမားၿပီး အိမ္ႀကီး၊ အိမ္ေကာင္း ေတြလဲ ေပါပါတယ္။ စီးပြားေရး ေကာင္းဟန္ ရွိပါတယ္။ ခ်င္းအမ်ိဳးသားေတြ အမ်ားအျပား ေနထိုင္ၾကၿပီး ခရစ္ယာန္ ဘုရားေက်ာင္းေတြ ရြာတိုင္းလိုလို ရွိပါတယ္။ လယ္ယာ ေျမေကာင္းေတြ ေပါမ်ားပါတယ္။

တမူးၿမိဳ႕ အဝင္မွာ ကားဝင္း ရွိပါတယ္။ လမ္းမႀကီး ေဘးမွာပါ။ ခရီးသည္တင္ ကားနဲ႔ ကုန္ကားေတြ ကိုပဲ စစ္ေဆးၿပီး ဆိုင္ကယ္၊ စက္ဘီးေတြ ကေတာ့ လြတ္လပ္စြာ သြားလာေန ၾကပါတယ္။ ကားဝင္းက မထြက္မီ ခရီးသည္ ေတြရဲ့ ခရီးေဆာင္ အိတ္ေတြကို စစ္ေဆးပါတယ္။ ၿပီးေတာ့ မွတ္ပံုတင္ ေတြကို လဝက ကျပန္ေပးပါတယ္။

ကားဝင္း အျပင္ဖက္မွာ ဆိုက္ကားငွားၿပီး တမူး ၿမိဳ႕တြင္းကို သြားနိုင္ပါတယ္။ လူေန အိမ္ေျခ ေတြက ကားဝင္းကို ေက်ာ္ၿပီး ရွိေနပါတယ္။ ကေလး - တမူး လမ္းဟာ အဆင္ေျပေျပ၊ သက္ေတာင့္ သက္သာ သြားနိုင္တဲ့ ခရီးပါ။

Kalay Tamu Highway

Buses to Tamu leave every day from the bus terminal in Kalay. Buses leave at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM everyday. The vans (Town Ace) cost 2,500 kyats a person while the minibuses cost 2,000 kyats. There are big buses too but they mainly carry goods and not very convenient for people to travel. Buses from Tamu leave at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM everyday.

Passengers have to hand over their ID cards to the driver before start of the trip. There is no search on leaving Kalay. The road is very nice except for a few bumps and holes. The road is two lanes, complete with traffic signs. Indian government built the road for the Myanmar government.

About 60 miles away from Kalay, we reach Khan Pat, a sub township in Tamu District. The cars were stopped, and at 9:00 AM all the cars are allowed to go in convoy with the police and army security. There are insurgents on Indian side, and the road is just a few kilometers away from the body. However, there is nothing to worry on Myanmar side. There is no search in Khan Pat.

Villages and houses on the way to Tamu are quite large, clean and well developed. There are many churches in almost every village. Many of the inhabitants are Chin people.

The Highway Bus Terminal in Tamu is just on the side of the main road. Luggages were seharched and the ID cards were given back to the passengers. There was no restriction to those who were walking and riding motorcycles. The town has already overgrown the bus terminal now.

You can take a trishaw outside the station to go to downtown.

Morai and Nan Pha Long Market

About 10 minutes away from Tamu by bus is Morai, a town from India, and Nan Pha Long Market and village, in Myanmar. It cost only 200 kyats per person for a bus ride. There are many Indians from Morai coming to shop at Nan Pha Long Market. Marchandises on sale include those from China, Thailand, as well as foods and produsts from Myanmar. People from Tamu also come and buy Indian products too.

There is no fence between Morai and Myanmar side although there is a border check point. People could pass the border freely without restriction, and people from India could visit as far as Tamu.

Burmese citizens are not allowed to visit Morai but, because there is no fence, people from Tamu and Nan Pha Long simply go to Morai without any restriction. However, I was advised not to wander around in Morai as there are insurgents in Manipur. Occasional gun fights do happen in Morai. On Myanmar side, there is only peace. Inhabitants of Tamu usually refrain from talking about the Maniput insurgents as they are afraid of the insurgents.

မိုေရးၿမိဳ႕နဲ႔ ကပ္လ်က္ရွိၿပီး မိုေရး ၿမိဳ႕သူ၊ ၿမိဳ႕သားေတြ ေစ်းလာဝယ္ ေနၾကတာ ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ အိႏၵိယ နိုင္ငံသား အမ်ား အျပား ေစ်းလာ ဝယ္ၾကလို႔ အလြန္ပဲ စည္ကားလွ ပါတယ္။ တမူး ၿမိဳ႕သူ၊ ၿမိဳ႕သားေတြလဲ အိႏၵိယ နိုင္ငံထြက္ ကုန္ပစၥည္း ေတြကို လာဝယ္ ၾကပါတယ္။

ကုန္ပစၥည္း ေတြက စံုလွပါတယ္။ အိႏၵိယ၊ ထိုင္း၊ တ႐ုတ္ ကုန္ပစၥည္း ေတြအျပင္ ျမန္မာ နိုင္ငံထြက္ အစားအေသာက္၊ အခ်ဥ္ထုပ္၊ ယိုစံု၊ ဆပ္ျပာနဲ႔ အျခား လူသံုး ကုန္ပစၥည္း ေတြ ေရာင္းခ် ၾကပါတယ္။ မိုေရးကေန ေစ်းထဲကို လြတ္လပ္စြာ ဝင္ထြက္ သြားလာ နိုင္ၾကပါတယ္။ နန္႔ဖာလံု ရြာနဲ႔ တမူးၿမိဳ႕ အထိ လာေရာက္ လည္ပတ္နို္င္ ၾကပါတယ္။ မိုေရးနဲ႔ ျမန္မာျပည္ ၾကားမွာ ၿခံစည္းရိုး မရွိေတာ့ အတား အဆီး မရွိ ဝင္ထြက္ သြားလာ နို္င္ၾကပါတယ္။

ျမန္မာ နိုင္ငံသားေတြ မိုေရး ၿမိဳ႕ထဲကို သြားေရာက္ လည္ပတ္ခြင့္ မရွိပါ။ ဒါေပမယ့္ ၿခံစည္းရိုး အတား အဆီး မရွိ၊ အစစ္ အေဆး မရွိတဲ့ အတြက္ ဒီအတိုင္း သြားလာ လည္ပတ္ ေနၾကပါတယ္။ တစ္ဖက္ နိုင္ငံက လံုၿခံဳေရး သိပ္ေတာ့ စိတ္မခ်ရ ပါဘူး။ မဏိပူရ ခြဲထြက္ေရး သူပုန္ေတြ လႈပ္ရွားမႈ ရွိတဲ့ အတြက္ မၾကာခဏ ပစ္ခတ္မႈေတြ ျဖစ္ပြား တတ္ပါတယ္။

နန္႔ဖာလံု ေစ်းေရာက္တုန္း နန္႔ဖာလံု ရြာထဲ သြားေရာက္ လည္ပတ္ နို္င္ပါတယ္။ ေစ်းထဲမွာေတာ့ လံုၿခံဳေရး အရ ဓါတ္ပံု ရိုက္ခြင့္္ မျပဳပါဘူး။ တစ္ဖက္ နိုင္ငံ သြားလည္ရင္လဲ သတိထား သြားလာဖို႔ အႀကံ ေပးခ်င္ပါတယ္။
